Our Custom Jewelry Process
Design Consultation
The first step in creating your piece is for our jewelry designers to understand what you’re looking for. If you have pictures or a vintage piece of jewelry for inspiration, bring them along. Talking over your ideas with the designer will help incorporate them into your custom jewelry.
If you aren’t sure what you’re looking for, no worries. The Wear Ever Jewelry team can assist with finding your style. With years of experience, our team will also provide recommendations on gemstones and metals based on your budget and if this piece is for a special occasion or everyday wear.
Drawing Review
Your jewelry designer will take everything learned from the consultation and bring it to life during our drawing review process which may include hand sketches and/or CAD renderings. This step is integral in our custom jewelry process to ensure that you are happy with the design. Based on your feedback, modifications will be made to get it just right, and additional drawings may be provided as you finalize details for your perfect piece.
Jewelry Production
Once the drawing and materials are finalized, our jewelry artists create your handmade custom jewelry. Production may include hand fabrication, casting, stone setting, polishing, and other processes performed by our experienced goldsmiths.

How long does the custom jewelry design process take?
When you work with Wear Ever Jewelry on your jewelry design, we’ll guide you through every step, from brainstorming during the consultation to choosing your gemstones and metals. After we’ve had your initial consultation, we can advise more on the timeline for creating your piece. In general, custom jewelry takes 4-6 weeks.
Can I repurpose vintage jewelry in my custom design?
Yes! If you have an heirloom jewelry piece or a vintage find, you can reuse the gemstones and possibly other materials to create something uniquely you. You’ll work with our experienced artists to create exactly what you’re looking for.
What types of custom jewelry styles are available?
Our services are perfect for redesigning existing jewelry or creating something totally unique. Yes! Wear Ever Jewelry has a studio right here in Alexandria where your jewelry will be made. Our jewelry studio is well-equipped with everything we need to create your custom piece. On the occasion that we can't do everything in-house, we have a network of trusted specialists we oversee and work with.
